Use 2:1 demerara sugar syrup for its listed portion.

Chill a cocktail coupe to ensure a perfectly cooled drink.

Prepare a twist of orange zest, cut to the size of a coin, for garnish.

Stir the reposado tequila, Lustau Palo Cortado Península Sherry, dark rum, Grand Marnier or other cognac orange liqueur, and the brown sugar syrup with ice until well chilled.

Strain the mixture into the pre-chilled cocktail coupe.

Express the orange zest twist over the cocktail to release its oils, then float it as a garnish.
