Chill an Old Fashioned glass by filling it with ice.

In a mixing glass, combine the Irish whiskey, dry vermouth, sweet vermouth, Angostura aromatic bitters, and absinthe.

Discard the ice from the Old Fashioned glass and strain the mixture over fresh ice.
