Chill a Martini glass in advance to ensure optimal serving temperature.

Add the rye whiskey, sweet vermouth, Bénédictine, absinthe, and Peychaud's bitters to a cocktail mixing glass.

Fill the mixing glass with ice and stir continuously until the mixture is very cold.
