Recipe notes
Measure both coffee ingredients
Here, 5 cl vodka is paired with 1 cl coffee liqueur and 1 cl espresso. Kahlúa is the coffee liqueur named in the ingredient details. Measure both coffee components separately: the liqueur contributes sweetness as well as coffee flavor, while the espresso brings its own coffee character.
Have the chilled glass ready
Prepare the pre-chilled martini glass before shaking the ingredients with ice. Shaking brings the vodka, coffee liqueur and espresso together while cooling the mixture. Strain the drink into the waiting glass so the shaking ice stays behind. Having the glass ready makes it easier to follow the shake-and-strain sequence in the instructions.
