Use 2:1 rich simple syrup for its listed portion.

Chill a Martini glass in preparation for serving.

Cut a wedge of grapefruit to use as a garnish.

Combine the blended Scotch whisky, freshly squeezed pink grapefruit juice, Grand Marnier or other cognac orange liqueur, and rich sugar syrup in a shaker with ice.

Shake the mixture vigorously until well chilled.

Fine strain the cocktail into the pre-chilled Martini glass.

Garnish with the prepared grapefruit wedge.
