Use honey syrup made with 3 parts honey to 1 part water by weight for its listed portion.

Chill a cocktail coupe in preparation for serving.

Prepare a mint leaf for garnishing.

Shake the Cuban rum, freshly squeezed lime juice, apple juice or cider, honey syrup, and fresh mint leaves with ice until well chilled.

Fine strain the mixture into the pre-chilled coupe glass.

Garnish with the mint leaf.
