Use honey syrup made with 3 parts honey to 1 part water by weight for its listed portion.

Chill a cocktail coupe in advance to ensure a refreshing serve.

Prepare a garnish by filling a spray bottle with Islay whisky.

Combine the straight rye whiskey, Cynar or other carciofo amaro, Amaro (such as Montenegro), and honey syrup in a mixing glass.

Add ice to the mixing glass and stir the mixture until well chilled.

Fine strain the cocktail into the pre-chilled coupe.

Finish by misting the surface of the drink with the Islay whisky spray.
