Select and pre-chill a cocktail coupe.

Prepare a lemon zest twist for garnish.

Shake the cognac, freshly squeezed lemon juice, orgeat syrup, chilled water (if using), creole-style bitters, and saline solution with ice.

Fine strain the mixture into the chilled cocktail coupe.

Express the lemon zest twist over the cocktail and use it as a garnish.
