Blackberry on Rye

Muddle the blackberries in the simple syrup at the bottom of your mixing glass.

Add the rye, red wine, freshly squeezed lemon juice, and a couple of dashes of Angostura bitters to the mixture.

Shake vigorously with ice until the drink is frothy and well-chilled.

Double strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer over fresh ice into an Old Fashioned glass.

Garnish with additional blackberries for a touch of elegance.
