Use 2:1 rich simple syrup for its listed portion.

Select and pre-chill a Coupe glass.

Prepare an orange zest twist for garnish.

Cut a fresh passion fruit in half and scoop the flesh and seeds into a shaker.

Add the bourbon whiskey, your choice of Calvados, apple brandy, or straight applejack, along with the grenadine or pomegranate syrup, rich sugar syrup, orange flower or blossom water, and a dash of orange bitters.

Shake the mixture vigorously with ice.

Fine strain the cocktail into the chilled Coupe glass.

Express the orange zest twist over the cocktail and use it as a garnish.
