Mexican Melon Ball

Use 2:1 rich simple syrup for its listed portion.

Cut the cantaloupe into segments and remove the seeds. Extract cubes of flesh from one segment and muddle them in the base of a shaker.

Add the reposado tequila, freshly squeezed orange juice, and rich sugar syrup to the shaker.

Shake the mixture vigorously with ice.

Fine strain the cocktail into a highball glass filled with ice.
