Chill a Old Fashioned Glass by filling it with ice water.

In a shaker, combine the gin, elderflower liqueur, and freshly squeezed lime juice.

Add ice cubes to the shaker.

Shake vigorously until well-chilled.

Discard the ice water from the Old Fashioned Glass.

Rinse the inside of the Old Fashioned Glass with a dash of absinthe, then discard any excess.

Strain the cocktail mixture into the prepared Old Fashioned Glass.

Serve immediately and enjoy.

Serve the strained cocktail over fresh ice in the old fashioned glass.
