Select and pre-chill a highball glass.

Prepare a garnish by twisting a lemon zest and setting aside some mint sprigs.

Fill the highball glass with ice and stir until a small amount of water forms at the base.

Add additional ice and continue stirring to further chill the glass.

Strain out the melted water from the glass.

Pour the blended Scotch whisky into the ice-filled glass, topping with more ice to reach the brim.

Stir the whisky and ice, adding more ice as needed to maintain the level with the brim.

Add chilled water to the glass and give a brief final stir.

Express the lemon zest twist over the cocktail, then discard the twist.

Garnish with a bouquet of mint sprigs.
