Use 2:1 rich simple syrup for its listed portion.

Chill a cocktail coupe glass in advance.

Prepare a thin slice of cucumber for garnish and set aside.

Peel and chop the cucumber, then muddle it thoroughly in the base of a shaker.

Add the gin, red bitter liqueur, freshly squeezed orange juice, and rich sugar syrup to the shaker.

Shake the mixture vigorously with ice until well chilled.

Fine strain the cocktail into the pre-chilled coupe glass.

Garnish by floating the cucumber slice on top of the drink.
