Use 2:1 rich simple syrup for its listed portion.

Select and pre-chill a highball glass.

Prepare a lemon slice wheel for garnish.

Shake the bourbon whiskey, cognac, freshly squeezed lemon juice, rich sugar syrup, and chilled water with ice.

Strain the mixture into the ice-filled highball glass.

Garnish with the lemon slice wheel.
