Kentucky Mac

Select and pre-chill an Old Fashioned glass.

Prepare a garnish consisting of mint sprigs for later use.

Muddle the fresh ginger root at the base of a shaker. Add the mint leaves and gently muddle again, just enough to bruise them.

Add the bourbon whiskey, ginger liqueur, and cloudy, unsweetened apple juice to the shaker.

Shake the mixture well with ice until thoroughly chilled.

Strain the cocktail into the pre-chilled Old Fashioned glass filled with crushed ice.

Garnish with a bouquet of mint sprigs.
