Ashes in Our Mouth

Combine the mezcal, sweet vermouth, Ancho Reyes chile liqueur, and Zucca (or other rabarbaro amaro such as Cappelletti Sfumato) in a mixing glass filled with ice.

Stir the mixture thoroughly until well-chilled.

Strain the mixture into an Old Fashioned glass.

Garnish with a twist of grapefruit peel.

Serve the cocktail neat or over a large ice cube or sphere.
