Werther's Hot Toddies

Place the crushed Werther's Originals on a shallow plate and the caramel on a separate shallow plate.

Dip the rims of glass mugs first into the caramel, ensuring an even coating, and then into the crushed Werther's to adhere.

In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the water, whole Werther's Originals, and cinnamon sticks. Stir constantly until the candies are completely melted.

Turn off the heat and stir in the fresh lemon juice and whiskey or bourbon.

Ladle the mixture into the prepared glass mugs and serve immediately, garnished with cinnamon sticks and lemon slices.
