Start with pecan-infused bourbon prepared in advance; the source uses roasted pecans seasoned with salt, black pepper and cayenne. Measure only the listed 65 cc finished infusion for the drink. Use 2:1 rich demerara syrup for its listed 8 cc portion.

Combine the pecan-infused bourbon and rich demerara syrup in a mixing glass filled with ice.

Stir until well-chilled and properly diluted.

Strain the mixture into an Old Fashioned glass over a large ice cube.

Serve without garnish.
