Rinse an Old Fashioned glass with Islay Scotch (Laphroaig 10), ensuring the glass is well coated, then discard the excess.

In a mixing glass, combine the Rye, additional Islay Scotch (Laphroaig 10), Absinthe, rich demerara syrup, and Peychaud’s Bitters.

Add ice to the mixing glass and stir the mixture until well chilled.

Strain the mixture into the prepared Old Fashioned glass.

Express the oils from a lemon peel over the drink, then discard the peel.
