Darwin's Hopes

Prepare the banana whiskey beforehand: add 3 sliced bananas to a bottle of whiskey, leave for 3–4 days, then strain out the fruit. Use the strained infusion for the drink.

Combine the banana-infused Irish whiskey, sweet vermouth, Pedro Ximénez Sherry, triple sec, and the listed 4 dashes walnut bitters in a mixing glass.

Add ice to the mixing glass and stir until well chilled.

Strain the mixture into an Old Fashioned glass over a large ice cube.

Garnish with an orange twist.
