Use 2:1 rich simple syrup for its listed portion.
Chill a cocktail coupe in advance.
Prepare a lemon zest twist for garnish.
Shake the gin, dry vermouth, mandarin liqueur, grenadine or pomegranate syrup, and tangerine or mandarin or clementine juice with ice. Optionally, add the sugar syrup if desired.
