THE RECIPE
How to make Lavender Basil Lemonade with Lavender, Basil, Sugar. See ingredients and step-by-step instructions.
Bring the dried lavender and some of the water to a boil in a small saucepan. If using coconut or granulated sugar, add it to the water at this stage. Once boiling, remove from heat and add the roughly chopped basil. Cover and allow to steep for ten minutes.
Meanwhile, squeeze fresh lemon juice into a tall glass pitcher. Stir in the honey unless sugar was added earlier. Add the remaining water to the pitcher and mix well.
After the basil has steeped, strain the lavender-basil infusion into the pitcher with the lemon juice mixture. Stir thoroughly and taste. Adjust the sweetness by adding more water if it's too sweet or additional honey, a little at a time, if too tart.
Chill the lemonade in the refrigerator until it is well cooled. When ready to serve, pour the lemonade over a glass filled with crushed ice. Garnish with additional basil and lavender for a fresh presentation. Serve and enjoy!
