Chill a martini glass to prepare for serving.

Combine the sotol, orange liqueur, lime juice, Averna, bitters, and a very small pinch of salt in a cocktail shaker.

Add ice to the shaker and shake vigorously until well-chilled.

Strain the mixture into the chilled martini glass.

Garnish with a lime wedge.
