Combine the light rum, Fernet Branca, freshly squeezed lime juice, and cinnamon syrup in a shaking tin.

Add ice to the tin and shake vigorously until well chilled.

Strain the mixture into a highball glass over an ice spear.

Top off with ginger beer.

Finish by adding several dashes of Angostura aromatic bitters on top.

Garnish with a piece of candied ginger, a twist of lime peel, and a fresh bouquet of mint.
