Rock 'n' Rye

Use 2:1 rich simple syrup for its listed portion.

Chill an Old Fashioned glass to prepare it for serving.

Prepare a garnish by twisting a strip of orange zest and skewering a Luxardo Maraschino cherry.

Combine the straight rye whiskey, freshly squeezed orange juice, freshly squeezed lemon juice, Maraschino syrup, and rich sugar syrup in a shaker filled with ice.

Shake the mixture vigorously until well chilled.

Strain the cocktail into the pre-chilled Old Fashioned glass filled with fresh ice.

Express the orange zest twist over the top of the cocktail to release its oils, then discard the twist.

Garnish the drink with the skewered cherry.
