Use 2:1 rich simple syrup for its listed portion.

Muddle the fresh blackberries at the base of a shaker.

Add the cognac, cognac orange liqueur, crème de mûre, freshly squeezed lemon juice, and rich sugar syrup to the shaker.

Shake vigorously with ice.

Fine strain the mixture into an Old Fashioned glass filled with crushed ice.
