Citrus Fever

Prepare grapefruit syrup: combine 1 cup sugar, 1 cup water and the zest and juice of 1 grapefruit, discarding the pith and pulp. Bring to a boil, remove from heat, steep 1 hour and strain through cheesecloth. Shake all listed drink liquids with ice, serve in a rocks glass and garnish with an orange slice.
