Chill a cocktail coupe by filling it with ice water and setting it aside.

In a mixing glass, combine bourbon, reposado tequila, and Aperol.

Add ice to the mixing glass and stir the mixture until well-chilled.

Empty the ice water from the coupe and strain the cocktail into the glass.

Express the oils from a lemon peel over the drink and use it as a garnish, placing it on the rim or inside the glass.
