Pour the listed bitter aperitif into the bottom of a rocks glass and add one large ice cube. Shake the remaining measured drink ingredients, including the smoked salt, with ice. Slowly strain over the cube to preserve the red bitter aperitif layer at the bottom. Finish with the blood orange slice and pinch of pink peppercorns.
