Select and pre-chill an Old Fashioned glass.

Prepare a garnish by creating a flamed twist of orange zest.

Stir the gin, Italian red bitter liqueur, chilled tawny port, and chilled Punt E Mes vermouth amaro with ice until well chilled.

Strain the mixture into the ice-filled Old Fashioned glass, ideally over a large cube or chunk of block ice.

Express the flamed orange zest twist over the cocktail to release its oils, then use the zest as a garnish.
