Julep vs. Sazerac

Start with these components prepared in advance: Simple syrup (Mint infused, see note).

Stir the bourbon, mint-infused simple syrup, and peach bitters with ice until well chilled.

Rinse a cocktail coupe with Fernet Branca, ensuring the interior is coated, and discard any excess.

Strain the stirred mixture into the prepared coupe.

Gently spank the mint sprig to release its aroma and place it in the glass, allowing some of it to rest on the rim for garnish.
