Chill a highball glass in advance to prepare it for serving.

Select a fresh pineapple wedge for garnish and set it aside.

Fill the chilled highball glass with ice cubes.

Pour the soda water directly into the ice-filled glass.

In a cocktail shaker, combine the cachaça, pineapple juice, freshly squeezed lemon juice, and grenadine or pomegranate syrup with ice.

Vigorously shake the mixture until well-chilled.

Strain the shaken mixture into the ice-filled glass that contains the soda water.

Garnish the drink with the prepared pineapple wedge by placing it on the rim of the glass.
