Combine the cognac-style brandy, freshly squeezed lemon juice, orange liqueur, and grenadine in a mixing glass. Shake the mixture vigorously to blend the flavors. Strain the shaken concoction into an Old Fashioned glass filled one-third with crushed ice. Top off with club soda to fill the glass, allowing the effervescence to gently mix with the other ingredients.
