Chill an Old Fashioned glass while preparing the cocktail.

In a mixing glass, combine the añejo rum, crème de banane, and bitters.

Add a pinch of ground chili pepper for a subtle heat.

Fill the mixing glass with ice and stir until well chilled.

Strain the mixture over a large ice cube in the chilled Old Fashioned glass.
