Chill the Old Fashioned glass by filling it with crushed ice.

Combine overproof rum, freshly squeezed grapefruit juice, lime juice, cinnamon syrup, and a dash of Angostura bitters in a shaker.

Add ice to the shaker and shake vigorously until well-chilled.

Discard the ice from the Old Fashioned glass and rinse it with 2 dashes of absinthe, allowing the excess to coat the inside before discarding any remaining liquid.

Strain the shaken mixture into the prepared glass over fresh crushed ice.
