Start and Finish

Chill a Old Fashioned Glass by filling it with ice and water, then set it aside.

In a mixing glass, combine the Averna, dry vermouth, Lillet Blanc, and absinthe.

Add a dash of Regans' orange bitters.

Fill the mixing glass with ice cubes and stir the mixture until well-chilled.

Empty the ice and water from the Old Fashioned Glass.

Strain the cocktail into the chilled Old Fashioned Glass.

Express the oils from an orange peel over the drink, then use the peel as a garnish.
