Select and pre-chill a highball glass.

Prepare a garnish by setting aside a fresh celery stalk.

Moisten the outside edge of the glass with lime or orange juice, then rim it with a mix of salt and cracked black pepper.

Roll all the ingredients with ice by rotating the shaker over and over, rather than shaking.

Strain the mixture into the ice-filled highball glass.

Garnish the cocktail with the prepared celery stalk.
